Using personality surveys and other tools is effective and more professional, but I would not call it creative. Hiring people without these tools is not creative, but I would not call using tools of effective hiring methods creative. Soup and Company's method of hiring was creative.
There is a higher standard of efficiency in business insomuch that getting hired for a job is actually a skill. Businesses are looking for people that fit their company; therefore, one can't give out your resume to random companies, expecting them to respond favorably. One needs to apply themselves to their careers as creative as the companies hiring to be employed.
