Turkey rescue
refugees after Greek coastguard incident
Three dinghies, inflated water vessels, carrying 120 refugees
from Syria, Afghanistan, Iran and various African countries, sought shelter in the Greek island of Lesbos. The dinghies were pulled by a motor boat, and the Greek
coastguard stopped their voyage by disconnecting the inflated water vessels
from the motor boat. They were left to be rescued by Turkey’s coastguard. The Island
of Lesbos is only 16 miles from the Turkish coast. [22]
