11 February 2019

Today is rainy and cold.
I made field quality control reports in the morning, walking all the floors of the Multnomah County Central Court House to record progress on the Inspection Tracker Matrix before lunch. There was not that much progress.
My operations manager asked me to do another connection plate quantity take off to order the parts for the parapet. I simplified the task by using technical skill. Wanting to confirm that my interpetation of the document was right with my project manager, I waited a little, trying to finalize the QTO excel sheet.
After work I implemented an idea, I started a Facebook Page for my blogs. I wrote the following note:

"Hi,
I am Alex Hicken. Thank you for your time, looking into my blogs’ Facebook page. I started blogging in the summer of 2011, and I started writing my personal journal, when I was eight years old. I am more committed to my personal journal than my other blogs. My personal journal is not private though. It is a blog too.
My first blog is call “Read the Story of the World.” It archives news reports. I wish that I can still post for this blog because I followed the world news very closely, feeling part of the world events; however, the time that the blog required to maintain it took away from other pursuits. Feeling my body deteriorating, I actually quit it to become the Cross Country Champion of BYU-Idaho in 2013 more specifically.
I have made other blogs for various purposes to serve people around the world. My blogs have been created to address the following things in my life: my profession, my scripture study journal, learning Thai, a failed or revamping affiliate marketing one, my young single adult branch, a mission blog of a friend, family advocacy, world news, personal journal, and an article curating and creating site; sharing the content of young single adults. The content of my blogs are heavily inspired by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which I belong to.
I found my passion for writing during high school. My older brother’s friend was a teacher’s aid, and she said that she really enjoyed a silly story that I wrote. It was randomly about a spoiled sumo wrestling child, complaining about how cold the stone tile was on his feet. I also am writing a science fiction series. I have a story that gets a lot of views of my adventure in China. A saying of mine is that I could write all day, and I am grateful that my career in construction management is very document creation focused.
Thank you for your time. I mainly chose to make a Facebook page to make my content reach a greater audience, and to let my friends choose to follow my daily content rather than my filling their feeds with daily posts that they may not be necessarily interested in. If you follow me, I am very grateful that you let my literature bless your life."

I also published the following post on 'Once Upon a Precept,' my scripture study journal:

"Pondering missionary work, I realized that Christ's mortal ministry was a designated time in his life.  He even had to remind his mother at 'a marriage in Cana of Galilee.'

"And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come." (Luke 2:3-4)

The following verses inspired the concluding thoughts last week:

JST, Matthew 3:24–26. Compare Matthew 2:23
Jesus grows up and waits on the Lord before beginning His ministry.

24 And it came to pass that Jesus grew up with his brethren, and waxed strong, and waited upon the Lord for the time of his ministry to come.
25 And he served under his father, and he spake not as other men, neither could he be taught; for he needed not that any man should teach him.
26 And after many years, the hour of his ministry drew nigh.

Man has stages in life. Play, learning, work, family, retirement, & senior missions are an example. We should not feel pressured to do everything in the present time. Just do your best. Follow the Spirit, and trust in the mercy, love, and grace of Jesus Christ."

When I arrived home, I turned in my taxes electronically. I like TurboTax, but their tax return wording confused me. I paid them unnecessarily out of pocket because they said that I had a few hundred dollars due. I confirmed my total Roth IRA investment with Human Resources, and fixing that number took a lot of fiddling around with the app. I can't even explain how I fixed my total Roth IRA investment.
We discussed Christ's teaching style for Family Home Evening. I might write about it in my study journal, but I need to get to sleep.
